About Kids Embracing Life

Kids Embracing Life (KEL) is a program developed by Kendall Lee from Boy Scouts of America Troop 109 (Menlo Park, CA) for his Eagle Leadership Service Project.

A Scout's Eagle Project is the last requirement before qualifying for the Eagle Scout rank (the highest rank of Boy Scouting). It's an opportunity to demonstrate leadership and planning skills, by working through others and completing a project that benefits the community. To learn more about Eagle Projects, click here.

Eagle RankThe Story

Kendall was inspired to create KEL when his younger sister had to get x-rays at the hospital. She was nervous and scared because she didn't know what to expect. After realizing there weren't many easily-available online resources for kids and teens to learn about the hospital, Kendall decided to team up with doctors at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center at Santa Clara to create a website to help kids in the same situation.

Everything on this website is free, and we will never place ads on the content. It would mean a lot to us if you donate any amount to keep KEL running. Thank you!
